Over the past 17 years, Craig Weida has acquired extensive experience and developed long-standing relationships with the best players in the special event industry by creating and managing productions for some of the largest companies in the world including; McDonald’s, EA, Warner Bros, Ubisoft, THQ, Disney ABC Television Group, RIOT Games, Ernst & Young, GM, 2K, and Telemundo to name a few.
Craig had an interesting start in the special event industry. Having a BA in Psychology is atypical for an event planner, but Craig joked that it is pretty darn helpful at times with some clients and former bosses. After college he worked in the nonprofit sector for the LA Department Health Services with a focus on alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention programs where he created a public information campaign, mobilized a community advocacy council, and developed conferences and community events. The last two is where he got his passion for event planning. He soon realized his creativity, attention to detail and ability to pull together elements to deliver memorable experiences, combined with his professional demeanor, light-hearted personality and his ability to keep cool under high-pressure situations, perfectly suited him for this career.
Following his stint in the nonprofit world, Craig joined Pacific Park, the amusement park on the Santa Monica Pier, creating special events, developing an in-park entertainment program, and managing film/photo shoots. He then went on to successful careers at two highly regarded event production companies in Los Angeles developing and managing events for Fortune 500 companies, private clients and the entertainment industry. After almost two decades of producing events of all types and sizes, primarily behind the scenes, Craig felt he could offer so much more if he ventured out on his own. With his drive and this motivation, RENDER Event Design was launched in 2016.
